over the last six months or so, i have been trying to take better advantage of my blender. business has been great, we have been staying very active, and time has been limited to say the least. finding time for a healthy lunch has been my biggest challenge, as it is for many, and i have tried to find any alternative possible to “convenience” food such as fast food or processed meals.
one such alternative has been blending. i take what i have available, mix it together, blend it and then drink my lunch. for example, i might have some left over spinach, a banana, blueberries, a carrot and coconut water. i throw those together, hit the blender and have a meal ready in less than five minutes. by blending, i give my body a very nutritious meal full of antioxidants, fiber and vitamins without excess fat or carbohydrates. it also delivers it in a form that is easily digested. what i really love about blending, is that it allows me to take in a very nutritious meal with no extra calories – it’s just the good stuff! one piece of advice is to blend your meal quickly to prevent over oxidation of the ingredients. twenty or thirty seconds should be plenty of time.

here is a grocery list to get you started for the first three days:
* 3 fresh tomatoes
* 1 bunch of parsley
* 1 medium sized avocado
* 2 lemons
* 1 red onion
* 1 clove of garlic
* 1 jalepeno pepper
* 2 bunches of spinach
* 3 bananas
* 1 pint of blueberries
* local honey
* 3 large leaves of kale
* ginger root
* 1 cup raw cashews
* sea salt
SPICY TOMATO PARSLEY GREEN SMOOTHIE

* 3 fresh tomatoes, cut into chunks
* 2 cups of ice
* 1 cup of parsley
* 1 cup of filtered water
* 1 medium avocado, pitted
* 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
* 3 tsp olive oil
* 2 tsp finely chopped red onion
* 1 ½ tsp freshly minced garlic
* 1 tsp of chopped jalepeno
* ¾ tsp sea salt
blend for 30 seconds and drink immediately.
