last week, i was contacted by a former co-worker of mine from new york who was looking for some help. she is friends with a couple that recently had a child, baby easton, born with epidermolysis bullosa (EB). EB is a rare genetic skin disease (affecting only 1 out of 50,000 births). this condition causes the skin to be so fragile that the slightest friction, minor injury, heat, rubbing, or scratching causes severe blistering. it is a horrific and sometimes fatal disease that will undoubtedly lead to large medical bills for this family, much of which is not covered by insurance.
on september 30th, there will be a relay race held outside of syracuse, new york to raise money for baby easton. obviously, we will not be able to attend this event but i would like to do what i can to help out in any way possible. for the week of september 23rd thru 29th, we will be accepting donations for this family at all of our runs and classes. we will also be donating any proceeds from our tabatas classes during the week. any little bit helps. no amount it too small. if you would like to donate online, you can do so here: www.active.com/donate/saveeaston
