on october 6th, team liveRIGHTnow traveled to nashville to compete in an urban adventure race called oyster, the race.  we are still not sure how it got it’s name but we heard about it when we were in portland for hood to coast.  our four person team was equipped with running shoes, bikes and smart phones and really no idea what to expect.   you get your first clue when the race starts at 8am and then the fun begins.  our first challenge included such acts as forming a five person pyramid with strangers, singing a carley rae jepsen tune inside the downtown hilton (we will post the video of this on facebook!) and hustling someone out of a 1970’s coin.  once completed, we received our first passport and then we were off to venture nashville.  we covered over 40 miles on foot and  on our bikes and performed a wide variety of both physical and mental challenges.  i am not sure which was my favorite:  kayaking down the river blindfolded, playing beer pong at the tap room, or “duck hunting” in a downtown swimming pool!

after almost six and a half hours, we were whooped and the promised chipotle burritos and yazoo brews were much needed!

we have really enjoyed team activities this year, mainly as part of action jackson, but this one was totally different.  it was really a great way to show off the city of nashville and local businesses.  hopefully, merrill will consider bringing their event to the jackson metro!  and if not, hey, maybe we can do one on our own… (wink, wink!)
